Even though we have only been married for just shy of two years sometimes my husband and I fall into the same boring rut. However, this weekend we bought a butterfly catching kit for our nephew to play with while he is staying with and it turned into one of the most fun and creative dates we have had in a long time.
We used ordinary fish nets for our butterfly nets, but you could also make your own. Here are instructions from The Crafty Crow.
We also bought a butterfly-keeper to keep our butterflies in and transport back to the house to identify them.
We also had a blast trying to identify our catches. Here are a few sites I reccomend.

So the next time you are looking for a fun date idea...or even fun with the kids, give butterfly catching a try.

Save the Coffee
We go through a lot of coffee in my house but it seems that all too often I end up throwing a partial pot away. The recent advertisements for the new coffemate iced coffee inspired me to make my own. I pour the leftover coffee in a pitcher, add a little splenda, a little creamer and 'viola' - iced coffee to enjoy the next day!
